Privacy Policy
This website and the Studywise service are operated by Alpha Will LLP ("Studywise", "we", "us", "our"), a limited liability partnership registered in Malaysia. Studywise is a Schola Project initiative, powered by My Schola. You can reach us at ask@studywise.my.
This policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, and your rights. We handle personal data in line with the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA) of Malaysia.
1. What we collect
- Account details: name and email address. Passwords are stored only as a secure hash, never in plain text.
- Study activity: the questions you attempt, whether answers were correct, time taken, topics, streaks and progress. This is what powers your readiness score and reports.
- Payment data: handled by Stripe. We receive a subscription status and reference, not your full card number.
- Technical data: basic device and usage information, and a local setting for dark mode stored in your browser.
2. How we use it
- To run your account and mark your practice.
- To work out predicted grades, readiness and weak topics.
- To manage your subscription and payments.
- To improve the questions and the service.
- To contact you about your account, security or important changes.
3. Who we share it with
We do not sell your data. We share only what is needed with the providers who run the service:
- Stripe for payment processing.
- Our hosting provider to store the site and database securely.
- Authorities where the law requires it.
4. Children
Studywise is used by school students. Where a user is under 18, an account should be set up and consented to by a parent or guardian. Parents may contact us to review or remove a child's data.
5. How long we keep it
We keep your data while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards to meet legal and accounting needs. You can ask us to delete your account and data.
6. Security
We use hashed passwords, secure connections and access controls. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot promise absolute security, but we take reasonable steps to protect your data.
7. Your rights
You may ask to access, correct or delete your personal data, or to limit how we use it. Email ask@studywise.my and we will respond within a reasonable time.
8. Cookies and local storage
We use essential storage to keep you signed in and to remember settings such as dark mode. We do not use advertising trackers.
9. Changes
We may update this policy. The current version is always on this page with the date above.
